AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is an attacking player. She is also the captain of the San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest level of women's professional soccer. From 2018 until 2020, she co-captained the American women's national soccer team with Megan Rapinoe. Following her graduation early from the University of California, Berkeley and playing with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was selected as the top pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the club and was instrumental in helping the team win the league championship. Morgan, who was 22 at the time was the youngest player on the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, in which the team finished as runner-up. At the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada. She ended 2012 with 21 goals, 28 goals, and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. She was the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States win their titles in both the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, in which she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
